Our commitment
FVAW believes technology should work for everyone, and that includes this website. We want every visitor to be able to read about our work and contact us, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not had the site independently audited or certified, so we describe this as our target, not a claim of full compliance.
How we test
Accessibility checks are part of the site’s automated test suite, which covers:
- Automated checks against the WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules, on the home page, on the inquiry form while it is open, and on these policy pages, in both a desktop browser and a mobile browser engine.
- A single main heading on each page, with heading levels that never skip.
- Keyboard access: a skip link to the main content, links in the footer and on the inquiry form that can be reached with the Tab key, and an inquiry form that closes with Escape and returns focus to where you were.
- Color contrast for text against the backgrounds it appears on.
- Respect for your device’s “reduce motion” setting, which turns off the site’s animations.
Known limitations
- Automated testing finds many problems but not all of them. Some issues only show up with particular assistive technology, and we have not yet tested with every screen reader.
- If we offer a booking link after an inquiry, the booking page is provided by another company. Its accessibility is outside our control. If it does not work for you, email us and we will arrange a time directly.
Tell us about a problem
If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, please email fvaw.consulting@gmail.com. It helps to tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using.
If the inquiry form does not work for you, you do not need to use it: send us an email with whatever you would have told us there, and we will take it from there.
